Weekends and Vacations for Children without Family Support

 

“Home in the Village” is our answer for those children who, for various reasons, are not able to leave the Children’s Home during normal vacation periods.

 

The number of children in this group varies for numerous reasons: the situation in their family’s home, at different ages each child’s condition can change, some situations are permanent while some are temporary, and some simply have no family to return to. These children have a very powerful feeling of abandonment, desertion, and loneliness that is even stronger than if they simply remained at our home for a vacation.  These emotions express themselves by exacerbating their emotional and behavioral problems.

 

The purpose of establishing this “vacation group” of students is to give them a safe place with enjoyable activities and experiences that will lessen the emotional conflict they face.
